Hi Allan, John,

Thanks! The interesting thing about this construction is that although the
verb is future the actual time reference is past. This is very important to
remember when translating dependent clauses introduced by yatra hi naama.
Cf. those with katha.m hi naama; see CPD s.v. katham.

Best,

Ole

Hello John, Ole,

It does indeed seem that this word should be "pa~n~naayissati," and not
"pa~n~naayati" as I reference the last paragraph of p.181 of lesson 21. It
must be a mistype.

Metta,

Alan

Dear Ole,
Thanks for your feedback on my work. Unfortunately, since I am
travelling at the moment I too don't have access to my copy of Warder,
so cannot check to see whether I made a typographical error, and all
the instances of "pa~n~naayati" should be "pa~n~naayissati", or
whether Warder got his text from some source other than PTS. Perhaps
somebody else on the list would be kind enough to check this for us,
or else it can just wait until mid-September when I get back to my
home base.
Would you change the translation here based on your observation?

With metta,
John
