Dear Kåre, Mike and friends,

Mike, fortunately, as my experience suggests, learning Pali is still
best with pen and paper.

Kåre's recommendations are good. You may like to refer to this site

Does anyone have recommendations for introductory materials? I would
prefer off-line materials as I spend my entire day with a computer.

Warder, "Introduction to Pali" is the best. Gair and
Karunatillake, "A New Course in Reading Pali" is also useful. Both
these should be easily obtainable.
