Hey Alan (and others)-

It's not the same as being able to talk to alums, but you might be
interested in this site as a starting point for tracking down some
programs:
http://www.carla.umn.edu/lctl/db/

It's a database of schools offering university instruction in 'less
commonly taught languages', and includes a list of schools with
courses in Pali. There aren't necesarily established programs at all
of the schools (and I'm not sure how up to date the database is), but
I've been able to get some information from contacting schools
directly that turned up in the list (it's also sometimes helpful to be
able to browse through course catalogues and the like, and see what
sort of programs are offered).
