Take my response with a large grain of salt since I am new to this and could
be mistaken, but I think that dhammasamuppaadaa is the nom plural that you
are looking for (hence why the verb is plural). Samuppaadaa is masculine
and then in the nominative has the 'aa' declension.

Bhikkhu Bodhi, in his notes to the MN translation states that 'paritassanaa
dhammasamuppaadaa' should be understood as " the agitation of craving and
the arising of other unwholesome states," based upon the MA.

My initial poor translation was:

"Excited mental phenomena arising and taking hold of the mind spring from
continual bodily change."

Obviously I was on the right track, but I did not understand the full
meaning and subtlety of the phrase, and the wording is sloppy.

Hopefully I have not confused you more than you already were, and others who
actually are experts in Pali, unlike myself, will chime in. :-)
