Dear Stephen, Tim and friends,

Stephen has made an interesting point which I think is possible, only
to a lesser extent. The reason being that the number (or concept of)
zero denotes nothing. The concept of emptiness actually implies
impermanence, something ordinary people always fail to understand,
probably because of the words in used. Nagarjuna has tried very hard
to explain it in his texts.

I suspect that it could be the other way around, especially in later
contexts -- apparently there was un upsurge of interest in
mathematics in India around the time of Nagarjuna and his chums.
