Dear Ven. Yuttadhammo, John, Nina, Piya, all venerables and friends,
I am delighted to meet and chat with John on Friday over coffee along
Brisbane River in Australia. We discussed about the likelihood of
relaunching the Sutta Translation series in which we last did the
Maharahulovada Sutta.
I have also discussed about this with Nina earlier offlist.
But, we really having two options:
1. to continue with the Pali Word by Word series. However, having to
select random but suitable sentences from the suttas, and understand
them in their contexts poses a great challenge.

2. to continue with the Sutta Translation series. The idea is to do
this on a long-term basis, and my suggestion is to go with the entire
Anguttara Nikaya, along with a lexicon of words in AN, and a detailed
index of all its suttas. It will be carried out in the Trilinear
format first proposed by Piya, and since used in all our exercises.
On top of that, John proposes a detailed grammatical analysis of the
vocabulary, something more complicated than what is done for MN62.

This mail is an invitation for your opinions and suggestions on the
choice, since it is good that we only focus on one of the two options
for now.
I look forward to hear from you soon.
metta,
Yong Peng.
