Dear Yong Peng,

My view is that you are doing all the right things with this group,
and we are very grateful to have you as the manager and moderator of
it. Your curfew and cooling-off period and re-focus on Pali have all
been very helpful.

I did express my views in a posting about 7-8 days ago, and they are
still the same. The main point is that I strongly endorsed a
suggestion by others in the group that, when some people on the list
stray into micchaa-vaacaa (wrong speech), the moderator (you) should
step in quickly and let them know that this type of wrong speech is
not tolerated on this list. If they persist after such a warning,
then you can simply block future messages from them. I know this may
not be easy for you to do, especially if you feel that the person
breaking the rules is senior to you in some way (age, wisdom, Pali
expertise, or perhaps their status as a monastic), but it is
necessary, and the majority of us who get such benefit from this group
will respect you all the more for it. I think due to work or other
pressures you were absent from the group for a while during the time
some of the exchanges got out of hand, and quick action from you was
missed.

With much metta,
John
P.S. Should I continue the Warder solutions postings now, or would
you rather I wait a little longer?
