lamented / evil / alas! / friend / things / among
beings / appeared
Then, Vasettha and Bharadvaja, these beings assembled
and lamented, “Alas! Evil things have appeared among
us.

maya.m hi pubbe mano-mayaa ahumhaa piitibhakkhaa
saya.m-pabhaa antalikkha-caraa subha-.t.thaayino,
cira.m diigham addhaana.m a.t.thamhaa.

rapture-feeding / self-luminous / sky-moving /

we stayed
For formerly we were mind-made, feeding on rapture,
self-luminous, moving through the sky, lustrous, and
