I would like to offer my services to anybody who has Romanized
Pali texts in any of the numerous 8-bit character encodings
(VRI, CSX, Norman, Normyn, etc.) or in Velthuis (ASCII-only) to
convert them to Unicode. This offer is only made to the
copyright holder, except for Public Domain works and works
published under a Free Document license. If you are not sure
whether you have the right to publish a version of any
particular document, write to me offline and we can discuss it.

I have converted a complete set of Tipitaka files from Norman to
Unicode for my private study, and I have asked the publisher
whether we can make it available to everybody. I intend to do
any dictionaries and textbooks that I can get permission for, in
addition to suttas, commentaries, and other literature. I will
be contacting other sites to discuss conversion and publication
of Unicode versions of their Pali materials.

I have not found any Web sites with extensive Unicode Pali
collections. If there are any, please let me know. If not, let
us create one.
