Hello,

As to the Mount Meru, it is surely described not as a usual mountain of
stone, so why it should have such a form on Earth?

Ancient Indian texts' description of apsaras fits well the polar aurora,
which has electromagnetic nature.

So I suppose that the Mount Meru also has elecromagnetic nature, as a
huge cone-like formation of magnetic field, situated on the North Pole.

For pictures of Earth' magnetic field see:

Polar regions play an important role, being the windows of
electromagnetic influence from the sun, "polar rain".
