Dear friends,

in my previous message, I am not implying Mahayana Buddhists are better
merit-makers. However, because, historically, the Theravada lineage is
closer to the traditions before the Mahayana movement, it emphasise on
different parts of the Buddha's teachings.

I have seen things changing in the past years that scholars,
researchers, laypeople (like myself) and even monks are looking at the
Pali Canon for inspirations in the daily lives. And personally, I find
the materials presented in the Pali Canon to come in the right dosage,
for me at least.

metta,
Yong Peng.
