The PTS edition is good, but rather expensive - at least if you want the
full Tipitaka. Here you can find the prices:

I have a few of the volumes of the PTS edition, and the full Bangkok
edition in Thai script. I like both, but the Bangkok edition (bought in
1987) has not so solid binding as the PTS edition. There may be more solid
bindings available now - I don't know.

The Thai script is easy to learn. Personally I find it esthetically very
pleasing, it is beautiful in the letters and beautiful in the meaning ...
did not the Buddha say something about this? :-)
