Dear Nina, Teng Kee, Rett and friends,
Nina, thanks for your reference to Warder. I find myself using it
more often lately. It's my first book, and I still have a clear
plastic cover on it, a practice by secondary students (during my time
in Singapore).
Teng Kee, thanks. :-) I spent 16 months on Pali Primer. That includes
some breaks in between, but if I add on two previous attempts in
which I tried out the first few chapters and stopped, it should get
back to 16 months.
Pali Primer may be very elementary, but I'd encourage all new
enthusiasts to go through it. The time a person spends on it is up to
individuals. With 32 lessons, it should take about 16 to 20 weeks in
a classroom environment.
metta,
Yong Peng.

I think even Lily De silva herself can't believe you spend so many
years on her small pali book. If that book is balavata in english
along with all sinhalese tika in english, you will be in advanced
level.
