I'm for simple English translations, even it it souonds colluquial, as the idea is to communicate, not to be technically correct (like playing music: inspiration is more important than technical exactness: machines can do that better).

Try:

"As this is, so is that; as that is, so is this."

This is the idappaccayataa formula.
