I'd like to let the group know that the website project, based on
the Pali-Chinese concordances, which i have spoken of a few times on
this group is now beginning construction. I suggested the name of
www.sutta-central.net. The key to getting it started was finding
someone reliable, who knows Pali and Chinese, is skilled in the
relevant IT skills, and has free time. And who would i come across
but our very own Yong Peng? And, miraculously, he's living in the
same city where the other main player in the project, Rod Bucknell,
is living. I decided to pop up to Brisbane to meet them both, and
all went well.
So now Yong Peng is the webmaster and Rod Bucknell has been awarded
the suitably impressive title of "Master of Cognacity'. Due to the
generosity of our sponsor (for my friends in Penang, yes it's
Dustin, but i guess he prefers to stay in the shadows...), work can
begin right away, or at least when Yong Peng is back from holidays
in singapore.
We aim to do the Digha as a pilot project, put it up and solicit
feedback. We'll keep you posted as to progress.
