Of course, an unavoidable consequence of the fact that
anyone can write anything in the Wikipedia is that
there may be errors, at least for a while; there is a
pious hope that other users will correct them
immediately, and sometimes they do.

But not always, so information seen in the Wikipedia
should preferebly be checked against other sources.

On the other hand, the same applies to more or less
anything we read, whether in the net or on paper. Have
we not all read the most marvelous assertions about
Buddhism, in books from the most prestigious
publishers?

(I have contributed very little to the English
Wikipedia, somewhat more to the Swedish edition, and
keep a daily eye on the Esperanto one. There are
Wikipedia editions in 161 languages at present,
although some are rather limited.)
