Yes, I too have been a little worried about swamping other list
readers with technical discussions. It would be good if we could
appoint a discussion board or seperate list for these sorts of
discussions. I can code in Perl, Java, Python and a few other odds
and ends. I, too, at one point started working on a conversion
program of some sort to translate between Unicode/font encoded text
and Velthius text, but didn't get very far with it before other
obligations interveened. Definitely still interested in the Wiki
project as well- that seems to sort of span the
technical/non-technical gap. Most list members are probably not
interested in the details of the back-end, but there's no reason that
they couldn't contribute to the content once a system was up and
running.

My appologies to any list members who have found their eyes glazing
over during these (semi-)technical discussions.
