Oh yeah...I don't mean that any wholesale abandoning of the practice is
going on, just that it seems likely and we do see erosion here and there.
Access to Insight has been without them from the get go and nobody seems to
mind.

Just to clarify one thing -- when you say that U.S. publishers are
abandonning diacritical marks, I'm assuming you're referring to
popular publications, such as Tricycle magazine. But Wisdom
Publications includes diacritical marks in its translations, and
scholarly publications even more so.
