Brother Sukhdev,

It is not necessary to attend a full time class but you may obtain the syllabus of the Course with one or two session (attendance in class ) per week to understand the subjet including basic Pali (most of which is a mixture of various Indian languages).

I understand there are several Bookshops in your location who may help you with the Books for the Course. But do remember you have to register for the examination.

Do keep in touch and my other brothers and sisters in the group be able to help you.

Best Regards.

Thank you for the suggestion. As a matter of fact the
idea of a diploma course sounds rather attractive.
But a peculiar problem that I have is that the only
day I am free is on Sundays. The Buddhist centres
that I have inquired about do not conduct meditation
classes nor Pali classes on Sunday. Otherwise I would
have enrolled quite some time ago.

I work as a driver in a Sikh-run children's welfare
home in Taman Zooview, Ulu Kelang, Kuala Lumpur, not
too far from the Zoo Negara.

My day starts at 6.45am, sending the morning school
children and the last trip brings the afternoon school
children back at 7.30pm. And officially I am on
stand-by for any emergencies like running any child to
the clinic or if not the GH. But this is just the
worst scenario which happens only sometimes.

Then there is the official home "lights-out" time,
which also includes the entry/exit gates. This makes
it extremely inconvenient for me to contemplate any
evening classes, both Pali and/or meditation on any
weekday or even Saturday, though on Saturdays my
schedule is somtimes lighter.

So this goes for the Diploma class as well.

Thanks for the idea anyway.
