A note on my Palistudy discussion list. We began the study of
Kaccaayana back in May 2003 and got only as far as Kc 1 when I came
upon part of the Kaccaayana-va.n.nanaa last January on the two
introductory verses. So I went right back to the beginning of the two
verses. I also included a detailed study on the six derivations of
se.t.tha.m (the first word). And then Teng Kee advised me to get a
copy of the Nyaasa or Mukhamattadiipanii (Mmd) which I received in
April. The part that I'm now studying is the Mmd commentary on the
first of Kaccaayana's introductory verses. I don't expect this study
will reach the point where Rett is currently at until the year 2006.
It's become a very slow study and become even slower when I start on a
parallel study of other important grammatical texts of the Kaccaayana
school including the Padaruupasiddhi and the Suttaniddesa.

My list is open to anyone interested in approaching Kaccaayana in this
way. To subscribe just get in touch with me but I'm afraid there will
not be much happening over this winter as I'm just about to take some
breaks.
