paa.thasaala.m. When a verb indicates motion to or towards
something, its object should be accusative.

Atha kho Jiivako Komaarabhacco raajaana.m Pajjota.m sappi.m
paayetvaa, *hatthisaala.m gantvaa*, Bhaddavatikaaya hatthinikaaya
nagaramhaa nippati.

Then Jiivaka Komaarabhacca, having made King Pajjota drink the ghee,
