Thanks for your responses. I've determined what the problem was. On
the Yahoo files page (under PaliCentre)Piya's document on "Pali
Conventions" is divided into two parts. Part 2, which I happened to
look at first, loaded in to my Acrobat reader with no problem. When
I tried to load Part 1, however, all I got was a blank screen. When
I tried again, after your response, I realized that the Acrobat
browser screen comes up blank because Part 1 (unlike Part 2) is
formatted in landscape mode. And because it consists of one page
(that is to say one-half page in landscape mode), what initiallly
comes up on the browser is the blank half of the landscape page.
When it finally occurred to me to just scroll down, the hidden page
appeared. Silly of me not to have tried that before, but it really
appeared as if no page at all had loaded (a problem I have had
before). Perhaps others have made the same mistake, so you might
want to re-format that page.
In any case, the problem for me is resolved. And many thanks, by the
way, for all your hard work maintaining this group and making the
material in the files section available. And thanks to Piya too for
providing this useful document.
