Dear Rett, Gunnar Gallmo, Thomas Law and all
Here is the source that describes Abhidhamma Pi.taka as belonging to
Khuddakanikaayo.
"Katamo khuddakanikaayo? Sakalam vinayapi.takam,
ABHIDHAMMAPI.TAKAM, khuddakapaa.tha, dhammapadaadayo ca pubbe
dassitaa paƱcadasappabhedaa; .thapetvaa cattaaro nikaaye
avasesam buddhavacananti."
The above quote can be found on page 25 of A.t.thasaalinii, the
Commentary On Dhammasanganii (Roman script).
Please kindly note the term "buddhavacanam" that refers to
abhidhammapi.takam.
Hence, I wrote in the previous post on this thread:
"Please also note how the Buddha repeated the verb 'hoti' for each
menal associate."
With kind regards,
Suan

Would you be so kind as to explain your source for this assertion? I
have looked in several enumerations of the contents of the Khuddaka
Nikaaya without being able to find the Abhidhamma Pi.taka in any of
them. In addition, since the Khuddaka Nikaaya is itself within the
Sutta Pi.taka, the above statement would involve one pi.taka
containing another, which would seem to upset the whole
organizational scheme.
