Dear Dr. Bittar,

if you are going to KL, you may like to pay a visit to the Ven. Dr. K. Sri
Dhammananda Maha Thera, who is honoured as the chief monk of
Malaysia and Singapore. You may try to arrange for a meeting through
Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia, its email and contacts can be
found from its website: http://www.bmsm.org.my/

I had the opportunity to attend one of his inspiring talks in Singapore. I
remembered him saying Buddhism is the religion which give every
single person the dignity to live as a man.

We have one of this free distribution book online:

In the Malay peninsular (Malaysia and Singapore), Buddhists (both
Theravada and Mahayana) regard him as a National Treasure:

I'm sure there are other members who may like to fill in with more
information.

Hello, on August 19th - 21st, my wife and myself will be for the first
time in Kuala-Lumpur. Could anyone in the group advise us of a
Theravada vihara worth of visiting -- I mean not that much
architecturally (though it would be appreciated), than having the
possibility of meeting a worthy bhikkhu or lay-person. I also understand
there is a dynamic Buddhist publishing house in KL; could anyone let
me know of addresses and phone numbers?
