I am new to this newsgroup, and quite an amateur in Pali, though not without veda for it. I have
been trying to learn Pali, so I would like to join the attempt to translate the Anguttara Nikaya.
Perhaps a website would work better as a place to post translated texts, than a newsgroup. Then
everyone could comment, and someone could edit according to accepted translation. If only someone
has interest in doing the work :) Also, I've heard of something called "weblogs" which sound
perhaps useful. Does anyone know about them?

A 6.6.6 - Mahantattasutta'm



Chahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannaagato bhikkhu nacirasseva mahantatta'm, vepullatta'm paapu.naati
dhammesu.



Katamehi chahi? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu aalokabahulo ca hoti yogabahulo ca

vedabahulo ca asantu.t.thibahulo ca anikkhittadhuro ca kusalesu dhammesu uttari ca
pataareti.



Imehi kho, bhikkhave, chahi dhammehi samannaagato bhikkhu nacirasseva mahantatta'm vepullatta'
m paapu.naati dhammesuu"ti.

With six dhammas endowed, oh monks, a monk, verily, in no long time, attains to greatness, vastness,
in regards to dhammas.



With which six? Here, oh monks, a monk is abundant in brightness, abundant in striving, abundant in
feeling (veda), abundant in relentlessness, unceasing in duties, and making further furtherance in
regards to wholesome dhammas.



With these very six dhammas endowed, oh monks, a monk, verily, in no long time, attains to
greatness, vastness, in regards to dhammas.
