gives no more than a precis of each Paa.timokkha rule. It is mostly read by=
Thai
monks who are only going to ordain for one rainy season or less. It gives n=
o
information about the nidaana (origin story) behind the rules, nor about la=
ter
amendments to them, nor about vinicchaya (adjudications on what is or is no=
t an
offence). For these one needs to consult the Vinaya Pi.taka itself.
