Dear Alexander,
They are described in the Patisambhidaamagga of the Khudaka Nikaya. Also in
the Visuddhimagga. In the suttas you will not find them in details, but when
you read the commentaries to the suttas you can see that the nucleus is
there. For example, the pari~n~nas are alluded to in the Kindred Sayings,
Salaayatanavagga.
