Hello Hasituppada, and thank-you for expressing your excellent thoughts and
views. However, a suttic reference in support of those thoughts and views
would be more than sufficient to satisfy me.

Also, I have never understood insight to be an "analytical aspect of
meditation." Please provide me with suttic support for that as well.

Kindest regards,

Jeff Brooks

Dear Friend,

I am not at all in agreement with your assertion " Insight
(vipassana) is simply the other side of the coin from absorption
(jhana). I have found they are simply different aspects of the same
thing"

Insight(Vipassana) is one thing, Samatha along with the Jhana
absorptions is another. Sallekha sutta says absorptions are
abiding in peace here and now. Insight(vipassana) is the
analytical aspect of meditation. You may perhaps be mistaking
Vipassana Jhana for samathat jhana absorptions, which are again two
diferent things.

You may call it fiction if you want to, but to say both samatha
Jhana absorptions and insight(vipassana) are the same thing is
incorrect. Your thirty year meditation experience does not give
credit to your assertion.
