Nina: you can fare safely with Buddhaghosa!
When we go back to the sutta: A true friend abandons even his own life for
you. And Buddhaghosa adds: Jiivita.m aga.netvaa pi tassa kicca.m
karoti yeva. He just performs that task not taking into consideration
(aga.netvaa) his own life.
