> Dear Friends,

> I have written a replacement program for TDP called UDP: The Unicode
> Document Processor. It has most of the features of TDP as well as TDP's
look
> and feel. I have just made a BETA release which you can download from
> http://home.alamedanet.net/~tibet/udp/readme.htm
>
> If you install UDP in the same folder as you installed TDP (which is the
> default), UDP will inherit all the options you set for TDP. UDP can read
all
> of TDP's file formats as well as import all the file types that TDP could
> import. However since it is a Unicode program, it does not ordinarily
write
> its files in a format that TDP can read, it uses its own formats.
>
> Since this is a Unicode program, it supports many more languages than
TDP -
> including Tibetan, Dzongkha, Russian, Japanese, etc. as well as the
Western
> European languages. It should serve well as a transition program between
> existing Tibetan file formats and the upcoming Microsoft support for
Tibetan
> Unicode.

> Because this is a BETA release, you might find some bugs - if so, please
let

> I hope you find this program useful and I will notify you when the actual
> release is made sometime early in 2004.
