Dear friends,

I am glad to resume Pali Word by Word. Unknowingly, I prepared
another sentence for pana. So, I think it is good to share with
everyone and seek your kind comments.

pana (ind., enclitic, adversative and interrogative particle) and,
yet, but, on the contrary, and now, more over, however.

DN2 Samaññaphala Sutta CSCD237/PTS1.77
Seyyathaa vaa pana, mahaaraaja, puriso asi.m kosiyaa pavaaheyya.
just as / or / and / great king / man / sword / from sheath / if…
removed
And, great king, just as if a man removed a sword from (its) sheath.

seyyathaa (ind.) as, just like.
vaa (ind., enclitic) or, either.
mahaaraaja (m.) great king.
puriso (m.) person; man.
asi (m.) sword.
kosiyaa (abl. of kosii, f.) from the sheath.
pavaaheyya (optative mood of pavaaheti) if he removed.

P.S. PTS edition has 'Seyyathaa' as 'Seyyathaapi'.

I look forward to your suggestions and comments.

metta,
Yong Peng
