Santa Cruz, Calif. (USA) -- The Sati Center for Buddhist Studies is
proud to distribute Handful of Leaves, the translation of selected
suttas of the Pali Canon by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.

With Metta Forest Monastery, this joint publishing and free
distribution program is spreading dhamma seeds throughout the world.
Handful of Leaves, Volume I, Ajaan Thanissaro's translation of
selections from the Digha and Majjhima Nikayas (Middle Length and
Long Discourses), has been sent to people in over a dozen countries
on six continents, and in many of the United States during the past
few months.

Volumes II and III are now available for distribution. Volume II
contains selections from the Samyutta Nikaya (Connected Discourses)
and Volume III has suttas from the Anguttara Nikaya (Numerical
Collection of Discourses). The fourth and final volume is expected to
be published this fall.

These books are distributed on a dana basis, that is, while Sati
centre does not charge to send the books, they accept donations to
cover the costs of the postage.

As the cost of mailing, especially international mailing, is
considerable, any help meeting our expenses by those capable of doing
so is greatly appreciated. Funds are payable in US dollars to
the "Sati Center for Buddhist Studies".

Ajaan Thanissaro (Geoffrey DeGraff) has been a Theravadin monk since
1976. He is currently the abbot of Metta Forest Monastery, a combined
monastic and lay meditation community in San Diego County. He is the
author of Mind Like Fire Unbound, and the translator of many Thai
meditation guides and selections from the Pali Canon.
