Dear group,

Someone mentioned (on another group) that there was an old Sinhalese
expression echoing the idea from the Canon, (but not in words that
anyone had been able to find in the Canon itself) - "All mundane
ones/worldlings are mad/crazy."
I have only been able to find it mentioned in the sayings of
Thabyekan Sayadaw:
'114. People are as Mad men - IT IS SAID that "worldlings
(Puthujjana) are as mad men" for they become as mad men when the
diseases of the impurities strike (and overwhelm their good senses).'

Does anyone know if it can be found in the Canon? Would the Pali be
Sabbe puthujjana ummatthaka (or maybe instead of ummatta use the
adjectives khittacitta/ atikuddha/atibhanta ??)

metta and peace,
Christine
