Dear Nina & friends,

The passages you mentioned concern the pronunciation of kammavaacaa, the
texts of ecclesiastical acts, such as those in connection with ordination
and sangha, kamma. They need to be properly pronunced and intoned in Pali for
the sangha act (like the passing of an act of Parliament) to be valid.
However this does not apply to the teaching of the Dharma (in the way it
does in Buddhist legal procedure). In the Vinaya, the letter of the law
predominates. However in the Dharma it is the spirit that predominates.

One has to let go of even the Dharma in due course, what more of that which
is not-Dharma (Alaggaduupamaa Sutta).

Sukhi

Piya
