I desperately search for the source of the following quote from the
Tipitaka - could someone help ? :
I don't remember the exact words, but the sutta is about, if I
remember well, two men who come to the Buddha asking him to allow
them to translate the suttas into sanskrit. The Buddha refuses,
saying that his teaching shall be in popular language.
If anyone knows the ref (Which nikaya ? sutta name ?), could he
share his knowledge with me ?
