Dear Michel and friends,

thanks. I am not aware that Mac users have problems with .php files.
Most, if not all, of the file types used on the world wide web are
supported by all operating systems: Windows, Unix, MacOS, Linux, etc.
Html, javascript, acrobat, flash, etc. requires the right browser,
reader or plugin to be installed in the client. File types
like .cgi, .pl and .php are processed by the server into (usually)
html-equivalent before being transmitted to the client.

I am not totally sure of the difficulty you face, but I believe it is
usually about coming to grasp with the software technology. Allow me
to give an example:

To view the document on 'ca' in Word-by-Word section, the link is:
http://www.tipitaka.net/pali/paliww/wordload.php?word=001

If you want to read the pre-processed text, or save it for offline
reference, it is quite straight forward here:
http://www.tipitaka.net/pali/paliww/paliww001.htm

However, for many commercial sites using .cgi, .pl, .php, .asp
(Microsoft) and other server-side-include technology, it is usually
not so straight forward. A high level of specialisation and large
volume of information usually means a highly optimised database-
driven site, and you would get a link like this:
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=microsoft&ei=UTF-
8&vm=i&n=20&fl=0&x=wrt

Hope that helps.

metta,
Yong Peng

I always appreciate the informations I found in the messages I

I am unable to open the files ending with .php. Is it a new trick
against Mac users or am I particularly clumsy?
