SV,302: Grievously afflicted. We read that the monks ask Anuruddha: ³What is
the venerable Anuruddha¹s life, in that the painful feelings that come upon
him make no impression on his mind?² (He is well grounded in four arisings
of mindfulness.)

our thought and abide therein... and when evil, unprofitable states arising
overpower not his thought and abide therein...²
Itivuttaka, As it was said, 18: ³Monks, if beings knew, as I know, the
ripening of sharing gifts, they would not enjoy their use without sharing
them, nor would taint of stinginess obsess the heart and stay there...²
