Dear Group,

I'm the list owner of a small Pali discussion group which currently
has 16 members, including Nina and a few others here. It was started
in early February, 2001 as a closed and unlisted group for just a
small number of us. However, it has until recently been inactive for
about 3 months -- partly because of the activity on this list and
partly because I haven't been contributing anything to keep it
going -- a must for a list owner!

From the recent discussions here on the Saddaniti and Pali grammars, I
have decided to narrow down the focus of my group to the study of
grammatical texts written in Pali and leave most of the general stuff
on Pali and Tipitaka translation work to this group. Also, I have
opened it up to anyone here who is interested in this approach to Pali
and would like to join us. The group which I call 'The Pali Study
Group' is now listed and you should be able to access its home page
at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/palistudy/

Yahoogroups does not allow me to change its closed status to an open
one, so in order to subscribe you will have to send a request to join
to: palistudy-owner@yahoogroups.com. You may have to wait a bit before
you're subscribed which I have to do manually. I can't promise that
I'll always be contributing as sometimes I like to take time off for
other things.

Best wishes,

Jim
