Dear Barnorn, Paul, Psert,
abhisambujjhati:
sambujjhati : to understand clearly. Think of the sambuddha. The abhi
prefix: in detail, or higher. We can tr: to understand thoroughly.
I appreciate the enthusiasm of you, Psert and Paul to translate Vinaya. I
wish I had more time to look at it. It helps if I know the PTS annotation.
Your book I is Book IV of PTS. If I know the place I can look quickly.
Paul wrote:
I've only invested in the volumes of the Digha and Majjhima as I
think Warder recommended i.e., to start with the oldest prose with
its more precise meanings. Was this your approach to beginning study?
N: I liked Kindred IV, also Majjhima, and commentaries, since there are not
many English tr. of them. B.B. has done a lot, but there are still many
untranslated.
I ordered the Inception of Discipline tr in English since it contains the
history of the councils and the Tipitaka.
Nina.
