About the Dhammapada ...
I'm not sure tri-linear would be a go-er in Oz. We'd all have to
learn "proper" english first.:-)
What about quattuor-linear i.e. Pali text/ literal English/ idiomatic
modern English/ Australian English; or quinque-linear adding an
additonal further translation into Strine as the final attempt to
bring insight to the determinedly ignorant?
I was going to say something in surfing idiom - but couldn't
translate from "nice to see that you are still being a burr under the
saddle" into something like 'sand in the vegie-burger' or 'shell grit
in the wet suit'??? onya mate!
I think idiomatic english will still have it's problems. :-)
