I was reading Piya Tan's excellent trilinear
translation of Anapanasati sutta, and investigated
"sambojjhanga" which he translated as "englightenment
factor". What I discovered:
(from online pts dictionary)
bojjhanga = bodhi + anga.
bodhi means awakening, anga I presume is like sanskrit
anga meaning a limb, like asht-anga yoga (8 limbs of
yoga).
So the "sam" in sambojjhanga is "seven"?
What do you guys recommend as an online resource for
learning how to count from one to ten and other basic
buddhist numbers in pali? (7, 8, 37, 84,000)
