Dear Nina and friends,
thanks, Nina, for all the help. Now, we have the complete sense of
the compound:
subhaasita-dubbhaasitaanam-attha-ma~n~naatu.m.
well spoken-ill spoken-the meaning-to think
to think of the meaning in what is well spoken and ill spoken.
bhaasita - spoken, said;
subhaasita - well spoken;
dubbhaasitaana.m - ill spoken;
anamattha - attha - meaning;
ma~n~naatu.m - to think, to deem (PED ma~n~nati).
However, for the case-ending -aana.m, should it be pl. dative
instead of locative? If so, it would render the phrase to be:
to think of the meaning for what is well spoken and ill spoken.
metta,
Yong Peng
