subhaasita-dubbhaasita-anamattha-ma~n~naatu.m.
well spoken-ill spoken-the meaning (attha)-to think
to think of the meaning in what is well spoken and ill spoken.

pa~n~na - wisdom, insight;
duppa~n~na - defective in wisdom;
ja.la - stupid, dull;
e.la - deaf;
muuga - dumb;
pa.tibala - competent, able;
bhaasita - spoken, said;
subhaasita - well spoken;
dubbhaasita - ill spoken;
anamattha - attha - meaning;
ma~n~naatu.m - to think, to deem (PED ma~n~nati).
