The "undying" "unconditional" romantic love a being
feels for their lover is rooted in ignorance,
conditioned by delusion, jealousy, possessiveness, all
subject to conditions of ever-changing perception of
lover. An utterly foolish concept.

The "unconditional" love a mother feels for a child is
far nobler, but one does not have to look too hard to
find a myriad of "conditions" for that kind of love.


Even perfectly developed metta, higher than motherly
love, directed to all beings by an enlightened being
to all 8 quadrants of the universe is still
conditioned, if by nothing other than the impermanence
of Nibbanna with remainder.

"Unconditional Love" is logically absurd.

Here are my nominations for more appropriate labels
describing what people often believe to be
"unconditional love", ordered from gross to subtle.

1. Romantic Delusion,
2. Romantic Delusion minus some of the standard
annoying stipulations,
3. Love with limited warranty not valid in all 50
states,
4. Love with fewer exemptions,
5. Relatively quasi-unconditional love,
6. Unconditional Love with the caveat that I don't
understand the concept unconditional,
