Dear Yong Peng,
In some chinese tran of other school in Taisho tipitaka-sakaya niruttiya refer to those different gotta(clan)languages but in our pali is refer to one gotamavacanam .It would have been sakaanam niruttiinam (gen plural as subject for nanagotta nanajacca people in that phrase which mean various languages to study buddhavacanam) .However in our pali is sing gen as enlargemant (adjective of that buddhavacanam )which means learning in one language-magadha.
as i have said last week buddha want us to retain the pali and also tran them .Don't confuse those meanings with vedic sanskrit .
