I don't think 'bare mindfulness' is a technical term (except perhaps among
naked ascetics!). It seems to be Soma's rendering of satiyeva, "just
mindfulness".

This is the Pali:

Yasmaa satiyevettha satipa.t.thaana.m vuttaa, tasmaassa sampayuttaa dhammaa
viiriyaadayo an.ganti aaha: "sampayogan.ga~ncassa dassetvaa" ti.
An.ga-saddo cettha kaara.napariyaayo da.t.thabbo.
