Dear Yufen,
It was due to they cannot find scholars to do new tran based on new pali readings like those is cambodia tipitaka and manuscripts etc,they completely copied from the 70 volume of japanese tran.
At least the japanese tran is a complete tiptaka tran with niddesa and complete patthana which pts is too far from published them.
i think the tran is a good set but the price is too high and the chinese is classic chinese version.
