Dear Tzungkuen

Those words "reliable" and "accurate" are big words. My own preference is
to use the PTS editions (especially the more recent editions)but to use the
Burmese and Thai editions alongside. The PTS editions are useful because
they often note essential variant readings and contain lots of information
on sources - all of which is fundamentally important for an understanding
of the texts. The devanagari editions generally are OK if you don't have
access to the others but derive straight from them with the additon of
typos. But you need to be aware that there are exceptions - some PTS
editions are sadly in need of doing over again while others are first class.

This is based entirely on my own experience and I wonder if other people may
not have quite different views.
