My guess those post have been written followers of Shakya Aryanatta (see
the above sites), who have been on a number of different lists and boards,
including here. They tend to obnoxious as only true believers can be.
I don't have time to work through translations of those texts, but the do
not point to an eternal soul, but they do point to an interesting use of
atta in terms of "self" development, in terms of cultivation of the seven
factor, the five thingies... in other words the 37 bodhi-pakkhiya-dhammas.
