Dear friends,
In the same vein as the PP guide recently posted, I
have created a useful tool for studying the vocabulary
in the Pali Primer, which I would like to share with
you all. It is in the files section at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Pali/files/primer/
So far it includes all the vocabulary in chapters 1
through 16 of the book.
This file was created using some handy learning
software (called Input Easy, developed by Andy Shaw,
which I highly recommend. Andy distributes this
software freely from his Pali page:
http://members.home.net/j-andrew-shaw/pali.htm
For your convenience I have included the software
executable in our own files section too.
Documentation about the software can be found on
Andy's site.
Note: In this file I have used a convention not used
by de Silva, but that is used by both Warder and Gair,
and that is: masculine and neuter a nouns are listed
in their nominative singular forms, instead of the
root, to distinguish them from each other. When
drilling the vocabulary, I find it more useful to
learn these words this way, thus learning the gender
at the same time.
Hope some of you find this useful.
If anyone finds any errors in it, please let me know.
It's a work in progress.
Metta,
John
